About Persides > Capabilities > Management > Supply Chain Management

Supply chain management is a key aspect in enabling prime contractors to deliver their programmes to the end customer and may encompass:

  • The delivery and integration of subsystems, products or enabling technology from a number of different suppliers
  • The provision of services that underpin the management, development or support of the deliverables.

Persides uses the same methodologies for managing customers’ contracts as for its subcontracts.  Particular emphasis is placed on the preparation of commercial Terms and Conditions, Statements Of Work and technical Specifications.

Persides ensures that each supplier is tightly integrated into the project team with clearly defined delivery milestones and a shared vision of the project objectives as a whole.  Additional techniques such as incentivisation form a key part of ensuring that maximum added-value is achieved throughout the supply chain.

Persides has experience in evaluating and selecting suppliers as described in Bid Management but also in mobilising and managing their programmes through-life.

Examples of our supply chain management experience include the following:

  • FIST – Future Integrated Soldier Technology for the UK MoD.  Persides as a Tier 1 partner to Thales is responsible for competing, evaluating, selecting and managing key support services suppliers including technical publications.
  • Pinz2 – Pinzgauer’s (now BAE Systems) internal vehicle development programme.  Persides’ supply chain role included the definition of a standard set of commercial terms and Statement Of Work to be tailored and applied to all the vehicle subsystem suppliers.  This ranged from complex development items to off-the-shelf procurement.
  • Lydian – an airborne surveillance system.  Persides’ is responsible to UTACS for the delivery of the Contractor Logistics Support service.
