VEEcam was featured on the Channel 4 TV programme ‘Undercover Boss’ (9pm on 22nd July). London Borough Tower Hamlets purchased 18 VEEcam Systems from Persides for their community law enforcement officers.

Persides is now able to offer the new low light camera. The difference between the current and new sensor is remarkable. Another key feature of the new sensor is its ultra low power consumption whch ensures battery charge is maintained for extended operational use. The combination of high performance and low power consumption is a unique combination and significantly out performs competitors products. The new sensor is fitted to the body-worn cameras and the cylindrical camera for head/helmet moutning. See the VEEcam low light comparison video below.

The ability to operate in extreme temperatures was a key consideration when the BBC selected VEEcam to capture video footage for the upcoming Frozen Planet TV documentary. VEEcam operating at -30 °C at the South Pole barber shop.

On the 4th February 2010 Persides hosted and chaired a NEC/System of System Safety Workshop at the Holiday Inn, Salisbury. With the aim of gaining a common view on the issues inherent within MOD policy on managing system of system safety, the workshop brought together influential MOD and industry safety specialists, including the policy regulators within the Land and Sea domains, DSTL, SEIG and D ISS. Although there was much debate covering a breadth of issues, consensus was reached on what the key issues are and what is ultimately required in terms of top level MOD policy review. A resulting paper will be submitted for the forthcoming ESAS 10, to be held at DE&S Abbey Wood in May 2010. (For further information on the details of the issues surrounding safety management for information only systems please contact Jim Mateer at Persides on 0117 9329 099).
Persides’ experience in providing wireless video systems into a broad user base has led to the conduct of a Pilot trial for the VW Group supplying Service Cam.
Service Cam is a Wi-Fi based wireless VEEcam with two-way audio that is used by Audi technicians when conducting vehicle inspections. The functionality provided allows the customer to follow the inspection process and to hold a two-way conversation with the technician.
The video and audio are currently displayed on a dedicated PC in the comfort of the showroom and could stretch to streaming this content to a secure web page which the customer could access from anywhere with internet access.
The order is initially for five trial systems to support an improved vehicle inspection process. If the requirements of the trials are met the solution will be rolled out to all Audi UK’s authorised repair centres.
