Ultra lightweight miniature head-camera launched  (January 2009)
Persides had just launched a new ultra lightweight miniature head-camera which has been offered into various Police Forces. The head camera has been designed to be worn with or without head dress. It comprises a very lightweight ergonomic ear and head mount that allows the user to wear the camera on either side of the head. In addition, the head camera incorporates a coiled cable to stretch from body to head and minimise cable drag which may otherwise restrict the users head movement.

VEEcam Sales Increase  (December 2008)
The Royal Navy Special Investigations Branch (RNSIB) placed a contract for a number of VEEcam systems and ancillaries. BBC High Risk Team and South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue also placed contracts for VEEcam.
I / ITSEC Conference  (December 2008)
Persides is building on its growing reputation a credible Training Needs Analysis provider and recently attended I-ITSEC to brief a number of potential customers and partners on its growing capability.
Persides signs FRES SOSI contract  (July 2008)

Thales has awarded Persides a contract for the provision of consultancy services into the FRES SOSI.  The scope of the contract includes all of Persides' key skill areas including through-life capability management, project management, systems engineering and supportability.

VEEcam wins Most Innovative Soldier System award at Soldier Technology Conference  (June 2008)
The 8th Soldier Technology conference in Europe took place at the Olympia Conference Centre, London from June 3rd-6th  2008 with over 450 soldier modernisation experts from around the world.  Persides exhibited its VEEcam product and won the coverted award for Most Innovative Soldier System against formidable competition.  This award underlines VEEcam's capability in high performance, tactical body-worn video systems.

VEEcam can now be delivered with two new major functions: GPS for accurate time and position recording and the SEGS software for securely managing video/stills recordings from the VEEcam console to the back-office image processing system.
Persides supports Selex in Project Asteral  (June 2008)
Selex has contracted Persides' support for Project Asteral, an overseas soldier modernisation programme.  Persides' responsibilties include Supportability strategy and management, R&M engineering, LSA, training and human factors.
SEA - Expeditionary Logistics Support (June 2008)

SEA has awarded Persides the lead in the ELS workpackage relating to the use of oils and lubricants in joint deployments.

Raytheon - Torpedo modelling  (June 2008)

Raytheon has awarded Persides a contract to conduct the relaibility modelling for a torpedo.

Thales - Air Movements Operations  (May 2008)
Thales have awarded Persides a 12 month contract to carry out the Software R&M and Safety elements of the AMO programme.  This significant amount of work was won in compettion against some major players in the defence consulting market place.
Accuracy International - SSIP  (May 2008)
After a hectic few months Persides has completed its work on the Sniper System Improvement Programme (SSIP) for Accuracy International to the delight of the MoD and AI.  Persides delivered a turnkey fixed price contract covering Safety, ILS Management, ILS Engineering, Technical Documentation and Training. 
VEEcam sales extend into new markets (May 2008)

Sales of Persides'  VEEcam system has now extended into the rail security market with an order from Southern Rail and further systems under evaluation with Southeastern Rail.  In the commercial market, motorcycle activity centres have seen the benefit of the rugged design and high quality video.

FRES - MRO Study

 (May 2008)

Persides has secured a major part in the MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) study for the FRES Utility Vehicle, under contract from Thales.  The objective of the study is to determine the current capability of the UK industrial base in delivering the MRO capability and where that capability falls short of best-practice define a migration plan to improve performance.

Raytheon contracts extended

 (April 2008)

Persides' contracts with Raytheon on a number of surveillance platform programmes have recently been extended both in terms of duration and scope.  Persides is now delivering services from two of its main business areas, namely Project Management and Supportability.

Additional Police Constabulary orders VEEcam system

 (April 2008)

The number of Police Constabularies that have ordered VEEcam systems increased to 5 this month on the back of successful trials with end users.  This success sets the scene for bidding into other upcoming body-worn video requirements.
Persides supports Jacobs Defence in OUVS bid  (April 2008)
Jacobs Defence contracted Persides to support their bid for the OUVS (Operational Utility Vehicle System) prospect.  Persides' responsibilities included DLOD integration, Through-life Capability Management with support in SRD development, benefits analysis and supplier evaluations.
Police forces award VEEcam contracts (March 2008)
Persides receives signifcant orders from two UK police forces for their rugged video system, VEEcam.  The system’s image performance, ruggedness and value-for-money were key discriminators in selecting the VEEcam product.
VEEcam orders increase - total of 4 police forces (March 2008)
Persides' sales of its VEEcam product continue to grow as another two UK police forces select the world-leading ruggedised video system for operational use.  Interest from other police and security organisations is also on the increase as the capability and value-for-money becomes known to these demanding customers.
MoD awards VEEcam contract (February 2008)
Persides receives a significant order from the UK MoD for its VEEcam product together with a unique load carriage solution, different camera options and integrated GPS receiver.  The system video performance, ruggedness and value-for-money were key discriminators in selecting the VEEcam product.
E-Borders  (January 2008)
Persides is has secured a Subcontract Management role in the homeland defence programme e-Borders, a flagship project led by Raytheon as part of the Trusted Borders consortium to modernise UK border and security systems and processes.

Persides expands into new premises (December 2007)
As a result of continuing growth in the business Persides moved into new premises situated between Bristol and Bath.  The two storey building also allows the R&D lab and the HQ functions to be conveniently located in one place thereby improving communications and reducing decision making timescales. Dive Show Exhibition 13th - 14th October (October 2007)

Defence Systems & Equipment International Exhibition 2007 (September 2007)
Persides is exhibiting at the worlds most prestigious defence exhibition, DSEI. Its the worlds largest fully integrated international defence exhibition bringing together senior international visitors and military influencers in an optimal business environment. DSEi is a four day event (11 to 14 September 07) held at ExCeL London. Persides will be exhibiting in the UK Partnership Pavilion, stand 159, which is close to the main entrance of ExCeL. Safety Training for Vega  (September 2007)
Persides delivered several days training to Vega for the Watchkeeper project covering safety management and engineering covering terminology, legislative framework and safety management systems.
Persides gains ISO 9001:2000 Quality Accreditation  (August 2007)
In August 2007 Persides has achieved ISO 9001:2000 accreditation from LRQA (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Ltd). An internationally recognized, regulated standard based on processes that create and control the products, services and activities within an organisation. Persides’ continuing efforts in maintaining the highest quality in its consultancy services have been recognised through this certification. ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognised quality management system standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). By setting quality objectives, a certified company is able to determine the effectiveness of its quality processes and continuously improve its products and services. Thales/Boeing FRES SOSI consortium (July 2007)
After some preparatory work with Boeing the Thales/Boeing consortium have selected Persides to support their bid for the FRES SOSI programme. Persides is contributing in the area of Through-Life Capability Management. Persides will also support Thales/Boeing in the SOSI mobilisation phase. This support will include continued development of the TLCM programme management and WLC modelling activities.
ABSL extend Persides contribution to PPS contract (July 2007)
ABSL Power Solutions Ltd have extended Persides contribution in the Portable Power System (PPS) technology development programme. Persides role over the next 12 months will be to define the supportability solution for this emerging power technology.
U-TacS (UAV Tactical Systems Ltd) Project Lydian  (July 2007)
Persides role continues to grow in providing Programme Management and Supply Chain Management support to the project Lydian UOR.

Pinzgauer - PINZ2 (December 2006)
Persides continues to lead the Pinz2 vehicle development programme which will deliver a totally updated platform by the end of 2007. This programme provides a good link into the Land121 project that Persides led earlier this year and brings new skills i.e. automotive engineering to the business.
Raytheon - ASTOR Availability Study (November 2006)
Persides has a contract to provide support to assist RSL ASTOR Whole Life Support (WLS) in the generation of a proposal for a study to investigate the feasibility of moving from the current contractual arrangements to an Availability-based contract. Activities to be undertaken under this work package comprise: • Gain understanding and expectations of ECR from both ASTOR DPA IPT and RSL • Identify CLS data currently available / not available to support study • Generate work package descriptions for study • Generate fully resourced schedule to support proposal generation
Raytheon - ARRC Programme (November 2006)
Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) is a key member of a team led by Thales UK that is undertaking the Assessment Phase of the UK MoD's Allied Rapid Reaction Corps Command (ARRC) and Control Information System (C2IS) programme. RSL is utilising its unmatched combination of capabilities in system architecture design and advanced system software development such as is being currently demonstrated on the JETTS programme. RSL also has access to Raytheon's U.S.-based capabilities that have already delivered highly capable HQ solutions such as the Coalition Deployed HQ (CDHQ) now operational in Iraq. ARRC C2IS will bring substantial benefits in the form of integrated command and control tools for NATO's High Readiness Force (Land) HQ and these will increase the command's operational tempo whilst lowering the overall cost to support and sustain the information system. ARRC C2IS goals include ensuring that the system is easier to use than current C2IS; that the new system provides benefits to t he user from the start; that the system provides information that users can't get from other sources; and that the system must meet the operational needs. The ARRC C2IS team is based in Wells, Somerset , and has established a demonstration laboratory at Rheindahlen in Germany . It is also building a technical demonstrator as a risk reduction exercise to prove the system architecture. Persides has won a contract with Raytheon to support the ARRC C2IS programme. Persides are providing an ILS Engineer to work within the ARRC C2IS programme team.
ABRO - MFV2 PTR (November 2006)
ABRO have given Persides a contract to provide support services for Integrated Logistic Support for the Major Foam Vehicle 2 (MFV2) Power Train Replacement (PTR). Persides are producing and delivering the ILS element of the proposal for the MFV2 PTR in accordance with the ITT
FRES - VEGA (October 2006)
Persides was contracted by VEGA Group to produce Boeing FRES (Future Raid Effect Systems) Through Life Management Plan and the Defence Logistics Stakeholders and Influencers Map. Further to this initial activity Persides then undertook a series ofSupportability work packages on BOEING’s behalf including a Review and gap analysis of the FRES Systems Requirements Document (SRD) and the production of a supportability methodology paper. A Persides team is working to define the Methodology for the tasks that need to be undertaken during the assessment phase to define the supportability offering.
BEST - Belgium Soldier Technology Programme (October 2006)
Persides provided support on behalf of Thales on the Belgian Soldier programme known as BEST. The Belgian MoD are currently assessing a number of possible solutions for their soldier programmes including a ‘FIST Type’ solution.
Thales Optronics - Watchkeeper  (October 2006)
Thales UK has been selected as the Prime Contractor for the UK MoD’s Watchkeeper Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) programme. Watchkeeper will provide the UK armed forces with an essential Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance (ISTAR) capability based on a tactical UAV system and will be a key component of the UK’s drive for Network Enabled Capability (NEC). Persides has won a contract with Thales to carry out the following ILS tasks: - LSA Task - Non Economic Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) - Draft Obsolescence Management Plan - Draft Software Support Plan
Roke Manor Research (October 2006)
Persides have a contract with Roke to provide the Remote Sensors package of the Network Enabled Capability for Close Combat (NEC4CC) study. This study is a research phase which is intended to inform the later stages of FIST. Persides are part of the Team Reach consortium which bid for this work
Thales Optronics - MASC (October 2006)
The Maritime Airborne Surveillance and Control (MASC) programme is aimed at providing the UK’s future aircraft carrier (CVF) with an organic maritime surveillance asset. Thales have been involved in the former Sea King Mk.II and the current Sea King Mk.VII helicopter solutions for the current requirement, and is bidding into MASC based on its extensive experience in maritime surveillance, focusing on UAV solutions. The programme is currently in the Assessment Phase (AP) which will run until Main Gate in Dec 09. The AP is divided into, AP 1 runs until Jul 07 and AP2 runs up to Main Gate. AP 1 consists of a number of studies covering the provision of airborne surveillance and control through existing assets, enhanced existing assets and new assets. Thales seeks Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) expertise to provide the supportability assessments for some of these studies. Persides has a contract to provide ILS expertise to support Thales in the delivery of the ILS aspects of th e MASC Studies at Thales Crawley.
Pinzgauer - Land 121  (September 2006)
Land 121 is a major military vehicle procurement programme for the Australian DoD and Persides supported Pinzgauer in their attempt to secure the Light/Lightweight category comprising over 900 vehicles plus 30 years support. Land 121 was a major activity for Persides and included, over a six month period, overall bid management (provided by Mark Cook, Managing Director of Persides) and delivery of the support solution for both the Light/Lightweight offering and the Medium/Heavy solution being prepared by Pinzgauer’s owners in the USA – our first contract from the USA! This work was led by Graham Tanner supported by John Scire & Peter Dyson. Persides also managed the integration of second tier subcontractors including Vega, TMS and Sula Systems into the bid. The Australian DoD will evaluate the various bids and award a contract in 2008. Persides have been asked to provide on-going support to Pinzgauer. Additionally we have been asked to lead the next generation vehi cle development programme “Pinz2” and to determine the support solution.
Persides provides ILS Management support to ABSL (August 2006)
ABSL Power Solutions Ltd has been selected by the UK MOD DPA Dismounted Close Combat IPT to conduct the Technology Development Program (TDP) for the Portable Power System (PPS). The TDP is a three year programme that has three separate strands of work, Strands A1, A2 and B. Strands A1 and A2 shall lead to a demonstration of high and low power solutions to TRL7, and Strand B to identifying candidate technologies for meeting specified power levels to TRL3. The program includes ILS activities across all three strands. Persides has a contract from ABSL to provide ILS management capability for the first year of the TDP program

PECOC contract with the MOD (June 2006)
Persides has just received its first contract from the MOD. The contract is to carry out the PECOC (Personal Equipment and Common Operational Clothing) ILS (Integrated Logistic Support) activities to support the initial gate submission.
Persides is awarded a Special Commendation Award (April 2006)
Raytheon Systems Ltd awarded Persides a Special Commendation Award at the Supplier Conference held in Glenrothes in Fife. Persides was awarded the Special Commendation based on outstanding commitment to the Raytheon Systems JETTS programme. Jamie Lake the JETTS Programme Manager said “Richard Naden a Director of Persides is currently contracted by Raytheon as the Deputy/Engineering Manager on JETTS. His commitment has been above and beyond any commitment I have ever received from a supplier. Richard’s commitment has been on par with only a few people I have ever worked with. He works long hours on a regular basis, travels back and forth to NISSC (Northern Ireland Systems & Software Centre) on a weekly basis and travels around the UK and to the US on business trips. Richard has taken ownership in delivering this system as if he was a Raytheon employee. Richard has become my strongest member of the leadership team in advising other members on how to execute against Ra ytheon process and he has built a solid teaming relationship with my customer base allowing me to let him deal on behalf of Raytheon in customer meetings. His overall commitment and drive to success in getting Raytheon and the team to succeed is above and beyond anything I have seen anyone sub-contractor do.” The JETTS Subcontractor Manager said “Persides commitment, drive and understanding of this complex programme has made all of our jobs easier, I just wish all suppliers were like Persides.”
Persides at AFCEA UK TechWest 2006 Conference & Exhibition (March 2006)
Gary Miller, Supportability Director of Persides was a guest speaker at this event and was speaking at the Conference ‘Key Supportability Characteristics of the UK Future Integrated Soldier Technology(FIST) programme’. The presentation provided a high level overview of the programme with a particular focus on the supportability characteristics. Persides exhibited at this event spotlighting its business areas of supportability, programme/bid management and technology engineering.
Harris Systems Ltd award 1 year contract to Persides (January 2006)
With the assistance of Consultancy Solutions Ltd (CSL) Persides has been awarded a 1 year contract to provide hardware, software and systems expertise and oversight of any potential software subcontracts in support of engineering development work by Harris Systems Ltd. A current role being performed by Persides is input to the UK MOD CHIM(P) programme, awarded to Harris Systems Ltd in October 2005. This programme delivers next-generation, multipurpose, reconfigurable cryptographic capability to the UK MOD. Chris Mobley, Technical Director of Persides, is quoted: "The Common-good High-grade Infosec Module (Programmable) is a very important program for the UK and Persides are proud to be a part of the development".

Raytheon awards contract for Engineering Management (May 2005)
Raytheon Systems Ltd awards Persides a contract for the role of Engineering Manager on the JETTS programme.
JETTS (Joint Effects Tactical Targeting System)is a Software Intensive Programme (SIP) to provide the Land Component Commander (LCC) with a set of software tools to increase tempo in the land battle field using the BOWMAN data terminal. The assessment phase is valued at approximately £10 million, and has the potential of an additional £300 million in the demonstration and manufacturing phase (D&MP).
Rolls Royce award Support contract to Persides (April 2005)
Rolls Royce awarded Persides a 3m contract to ensure the Maintainability and Supportability requirements are achieved on the JSF 135 Lift System.
Persides invests in Relex toolset (March 2005)
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement Persides has invested in a comprehensive suite of Relex ILS tools, covering the following:
  • Fault and Event Tree Evaluator
  • FMEA/FMECA Analyst
  • Maintainability Analyst
  • Life Cycle Costs Analyst

This integrated toolset will be used in the delivery of Persides' support solutions for its own and its clients needs.

SAFT selects Persides for Support Solution (February 2005)
SAFT selected Persides as its teaming partner for the provision of the Support Solution for its power subsystem bid into the FIST programme.
Under the agreed workshare, Persides is responsible for:
  • Management of the ILS programme
  • Conduct of LSA tasks
  • ARM planning, analysis and reporting
  • Technical documentation
  • Development of the training programme
Persides open first office (January 2005)
After several weeks of evaluating business premises in Bristol, Persides selected an office located in a Grade II Georgian building directly opposite the leafy Brandon\'s Park, home of Cabot\'s Tower and a short stroll from Bristol\'s city centre business, retail and entertainment district. ABRO selects Persides for Bid Management and ILS skills (October 2004)
ABRO has selected Persides to provide Bid Management and ILS skills in support of Project CASE (Contracting for Availability for Surveillance Target Acquistion and Night Observation Equipment).
Under the requirements of the teaming agreement, Persides will work with the ABRO bid manager to deliver a cost-effective innovative solution to the requirements of the DLO. In addition to providing bid management support, Persides will lead the ILS analysis work stream which includes:
  • Modelling the support infrastructure using Persides' ALF (Availability-based Logistics Forecasting) software tool
  • Obsolesence management and
  • Implementation of a DRACAS system using Persides' iDAT (integrated DRACAS Analysis Tool)software application.
Persides supports EDS Defence (July 2004)
EDS Defence has placed a 6 month contract with Persides to deliver the ILS aspects of a NBC sniffer system for the Royal Navy.
Persides raise £750 for Macmillan Cancer Relief (June 2004)
Gary Miller the Support Solutions Director of Persides donned his best walking feet and supported Phil Tufnell, the famous cricketer, in his npower500 challenge; to walk non-stop for 500 miles over one month in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Relief appeal.
Gary’s efforts were not quite as mammoth as Phil’s undertaking, but he excelled himself by walking unaided (well almost) 20 miles, finishing at Kirkheaton on Day 21.
Gary was accompanied on the walk and supported in raising donations by Richard Naden and between them, their generous sponsors and Persides a grand total of £750 was raised for the Macmillan appeal!
So a big thank you and new feet for Gary and Richard!

Thales FIST select Persides for ILS programme and Trials Support  (February 2004)
Persides has been selected by Thales to lead key aspects of the FIST ILS programme and to support the Trials programme, including delivery of Persides’ recently released Vela data capture and analysis toolset.
On the ILS programme, Persides is the ILS Cost Account Manager within the FIST PCMO (Prime Contract Management Office) responsible for the following work packages:
  • ILS Programme Management
  • Availability, Reliability, Maintainability
  • Logistic Support Analysis
  • Supply Support
  • Technical Publications
  • Training Programme Management
FIST (Future Integrated Soldier Technology) is a tri-service project initiated by the UK Ministry of Defence, which will provide the British Armed Forces with a totally integrated fighting system for dismounted, close combat troops. The objective of the programme is to provide enhanced capability in the areas of:
  • C4I (communications and situational awareness)
  • Lethality (weapons and sighting systems)
  • Sustainability (logistics and power sources)
  • Survivability (body armour and stealth)
  • Mobility (weight and navigation)
29,000 troops will be equipped during the Demonstration, Manufacture & Support Phase at contract value of £2b. The initial operational capability is set for 2009.
Vela data capture & analysis product released  (January 2004)
In response to the need for rapid collection and analysis of data during field trials, Persides has produced two software tools to simplify the collection process and provide a comprehensive analysis capability. Click here for more information.

Persides team with AeI on TIEC (November 2003)
 Persides’ first agreement is signed with Aerosystems International (AeI) for the provision of services for the TIEC proposal into BAE SYSTEMS. TIEC (Tactical Information Exchange Capability) is the addition of Link 16 and Variable Message Format networking to the RAF’s Harrier and Tornado platforms.
With a budget of £40m, TIEC is the largest value prospect that AeI has bid and it called upon Persides’ experience in large-value complex systems to lead the bid team and take full responsibility for delivery of the ILS programme upon contract award.
